I've come to understand that less 'rated power' can -in principle- confer an advantage.
Every active component has a dynamic range and that includes power amps. This means a lower rated amp -can- have an advantage conferred to it against a bigger amp whose dynamic range stays mostly unused even at maximum usable volume. I am talking about comparing differently powered models of the same amp design e.g. FPB200 vs FPB600. (Clearly, amps of different basic design have different current delivery into hard or complex loads and better load handling is "in principle" a good thing, but that's an aside to my point.) So bigger isn't automatically better. It depends!
