I now have a Duet SBR connected via digital to my Meridian DSP5200 speakers - which accept 24 bit input. I also have a Meridian 518 which I have been using to upscale the 16 bit audio from my old Roku to 24 bit. But now that the SBR outputs 24 bit I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for what to set? All my music is WMA Lossless.
I have read the forums and set the SBR to output at fixed volume and all the gain stuff is turned off. I have set the Bitrate limiting to no limit and the LAME quality level to highest. So which option should I go for? 1. Should I keep the 518 in the loop and let it assume the SBR is outputting 16 bit so that it takes those first 16 bits and upconverts with signal shaping to 24 bit? 2. Should I set it all to 24 bits 3. Should I take the 518 out and connect from SBR to DSP5200's direct? I'm currently leaning towards the first option? Any other settings or tweaks I should make? -- bov ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16983 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46561 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
