I've been off the forums since August 2007, when we bought a house. Buying a new home usually takes the funds out of the audiophilic budget. A few days ago I discovered a FLAC to WAV Mac alternative that I won't go into here (they are in other posts). But today I found myself doing something that I haven't done since the week after moving in; posting and reading instead of listening. My first few weeks I made HUGE jumps in sound quality - my new listening room is a secluded finished basement and I upgraded it with acoustic tiles. The tiles are the only audio upgrade I made in the last year. Amazing. But still I Love my sound quality. Yet, today I found myself engrossed in DAC, cable, and FLAC reading, without ever even warming up my tubes.
I solute you All. But I promise I will evermore only read and enjoy and not get caught up in envy. My best to all of you with an ear.
