Suggestion #1. Try listening blind. Suggestion #2. Avoid the endless debate (and it is endless) over S/PDIF and DACs by using the on-board DAC of the SB3 (it's not that bad...really!) or the TP.
Suggestion #3. Buy a cheap linear regulated PS if it makes you feel better.
