I’m purchasing a pair of Merlin VSM-MMe loudspeakers with Bam (base
augmentation module) and, on recommendation, I’m going to use a Ayre
AX-7e integrated SS amp.

The issue with using Bam is that I can only feed one source to the Amp
so I cannot use the traditional way of switching components within the
integrated amp. And, I desire to use the speakers for all my audio
requirements TV, DVD/Blueray/CD player and Transporter.

So, I have three sources but can only connect one to the Bam which in
turn connects to one of the unbalanced inputs on the Ayre.

There was a thread about using the transporter as your preamp and
wondering if the issues with switching different inputs have been
resolved?

If I could fed my TV audio (optical) my DVD/Blueray/CD player (coax) to
the transporter and do the switching between components within the
transporter menu I would have a single output to connect to the BAM and
I’m set to go. I think...

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ross
