Ohh! Opaqueice, How much I missed your dry scientific input in this
thread! how were your vacations?
Scientist and whales are mammals, 5.6 litter twin turbo v10 and a 1.6l
turbo diesel are car engines, and you know I can go forever with this
analogies.

The point is that the biggest virtue of a musical instrument is its
capacity to present a tone in direct response to the performers input,
which is of course subject to every thing that affects him directly.
Constantly shifting accuracies are not by definition something you can
call a reference, therefore the word accuracy in sound reproduction
looses a lot of relevance.
So yes a trumpet is a trumpet but the infinite variations of the sounds
of the trumpet renders the use of the word "trumpet" (as reference)
incredibly ambiguous to even talk about it on terms of accuracy or any
terms that are not related to the object per se.
