Can anyone help settle a discussion I just had with a friend (a bottle of 2004 Peter Michael Les Pavots is at stake): Herbert von Karajan was very influential in supporting and popularizing the CD format (he was there for the launch, too). But is it true that it was he who insisted on it being more than 60 minutes, deeming the original plan of the industry utterly insufficient to support classical music (Beethoven's 9th runs about 70 mins, right?).
Just curious if someone in here remembers the coverage and stories from back then. -- pablolie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51769 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
