Jim,i wonder what qualifies YOU to be a Jaded Audiophile?. glad that you like the Transporter,no more angst about value for money there then?. i too have a Transporter and used with the Duet controller it's a good combo. to my ears the audio from the black box is first class,but the primary reason for this enjoyment comes not from the hardware/software end but the Music! itself... my Transporter replaced the venerable Linn Ikemi,no slouch either for a cd spinner. i don't feel the need to use an external Dac,the chain is Transporter/Bonnec Pre/Linn C4200/Totem Acoustic Forest's. let us have an update on your extended listening perceptions and mabye by now you will be an "ex Jaded Audiophile"?.
