I can certainly believe that on some SACD's that the mix is different. I don't think it's on purpose. They just took the "orginal CD" and put it on there and do a new mix from masters for SACD. My collection is not that large. Same goes for Blu-Ray. Even if the resampled 24/88.2 down to 16/44.1 sounded better I would not bother. Space is cheap. Actually I could do that test instantly in the PS3 and just tell the PS3 to limit the HDMI PCM to 44.1 and it would do SACD to 44.1. -- mswlogo XP > Cat5 > Transporter > SPDIF > Meridian G68 > DSP6000, DSP5500HC, DSP5000 XP > Cat5 > SB3 > SPDIF > Meridian DSP5000 XP > Cat5 > SB3 > SPDIF > Meridian G91 > DSP5000 'My Transporter Setup' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=350741&postcount=45) 'Hitch Hikers Guide to Meridian' (http://www.meridianunplugged.com) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mswlogo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9090 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55729 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
