I can't argue or confirm any deterioration of sound as you point out Anne. I do, however, know that my tube life diminishes drastically when I run without a power conditioner. Typically I get a few good years of strong use out of a new set, but unprotected that number drops to a few months - what I'd normally call my break-in period. The way I figure it, spending $600 on a power conditioner saves me a good deal of cash even if it only lasts a few years. -- kphinney SB3 (x2) and Transporter Rotel RCD-1070 CIAudio DVA-2 w/ VAC-1 PS JoLida 102B Omega Grand 6's AKG K501 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ kphinney's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10409 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56471 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
