See this article: http://www.informationweek.com/news/hardware/mac/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=212700886&cid=iwhome_art_Macin_mostpop Seems the upper limit will still be 256kbs AAC lossy encoding. I guess Apple/iTunes still can't afford the larger servers and increased bandwidth needed for lossless files. Didn't sell enough iPhones. Damn. However, I shouldn't complain since American Idol winners sound best when heavily compressed and played back via iTunes through $29 computer speakers. -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57806 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
