My PMCs are studio speakers too, in fact I bought them from a recording
studio. :)

I have friends used to B&Ws and they both say they prefer the brighter
B&W presentation. One of them's a bass fiend and he doesn't like the
bass on the PMCs either, but he admits that they do "on certain tracks
only" show they go low enough and that they "love real instruments".
The other guy has a much better B&W system and he's critical too (!)
but he admits they provide more detail than his system. I think the
point is that studio monitors don't make everything sound "nice" in a
samey way (for example I can remember Mercy Street by Peter Gabriel
sounding a lot lot nicer on some Epos speakers another friend had) but
they let you hear the differences between good and iffy recordings.
Having said that there is very little in terms of recording quality
that puts me off listening entirely. Listening to demo tracks is
boring. :^)
