Don't knock it - I've experienced telecoms equipment spontaneously changing its' programming due to RFI. Changing said equipment out for metal cased equipment, properly earthed (ie Faraday caged) hardware solved all of the problems encountered with less well screened stuff. Who's to say that audio gear wouldn't benefit from a Farady cage. WAF factor would have to take a major back seat though ! And anechoic chambers are very weird places to find yourself in - the acoustic is totally unnatural - very definately not real world.
