For what it is worth, I think the threshold question you meed to ask yourself is whether 24/96 is important to you. If it is, the Transporter is your only chice. If not, then I would suggest an SB with modifications. I have had the Bolder analogue and digital mod done and also have built a linear power supply. The improvements are good. However, I have now settled on a Pace Car reclocker and feed an external dac. You can see my post in this forum regarding the Pace Car modificiation. Looking at everything in terms of cost, if you do not care about 24/96, then for the cost of a transporter, you can get the SB modded witht the Pace car, buy a competent dac and I think get very good results. At least at this point in time, it is what I have experienced.
