Personally, I think HDMI is OK for watching TV and Movies as a one
cable solution. I can even see a case for Audio because of bandwidth.
The real problem I have with it is that we're on our fourth revision of
the standard in about as many years. I don't consider that a standard.
HDMI is to hung up on preventing copying in my opinion. It errors on
the side of preventing what "might" be copying to easily. If one can't
take an HDMI output from a DVD player, run it into an A/V Pre-amp then
out of the Pre-amp via HDMI onto a projector without the player
refusing to play because it thinks illegal copying is going on, I don't
need HDMI.
