Just thought I'd add my 10 cents worth here. Bought a CA DacMagic a couple of weeks ago while I was back in the UK and it's been on ever since (whole system is left powered on 24/7 since it's solar powered*).
It is - quite simply - the dog's danglies. More of everything IMHO except perhaps soundstage. But then again my Naim gear doesn't really "do" imaging as some of you old timers will know, and my speakers are too far apart anyway. I expected crisper treble, tightened mid-range but wasn't expecting more bass. Still not sure which filter option to use on the DacMagic - any views? I suspect my hearing is not quite up to scratch these days - combination of moderate antiquity and self-abuse (aurally speaking of course) so I'm still playing. So if you've got £200 sterling just get one. I'm sure you can get better for more but if I had more I'd have got a Transporter. -Obrigado e boa noite- as we say round these parts.
