I compared a Transporter to a Lavry, side-by-side and posted my opinions on this site. They are very close. The Transporter does not lack bass as the Lavry does and the decay is also improved with the Transporter over the Lavry, however it's not a huge improvement. I'd say that the Transporter compares very closely to the Stello DA-100 Signature (or DA-220) although if given the choice I'd take a Duet/DA-100 over a Transporter. The Bel Canto on the other hand, is a completely different animal. Much more detail than either. It also includes preamp functions like analog volume control. -- Ben Diss 'SB3' (http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_squeezebox.html) -> 'Lavry DA10' (http://www.lavryengineering.com/productspage_da_10.html) -> 'BAT VK-31SE' (http://www.balanced.com/products/line/Vk-31SE/index.html) -> 'Halo A21' (http://www.parasound.com/halo/a21.php) -> 'B&W 803D' (http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/display.aspx?infid=1156) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ben Diss's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4289 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59154 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
