AFAIK, yes.

You might prefer or not prefer direct connection. It depends on so many
specific parameters that the only way to find out is to try it. Take
care to start with the TP volume at 0 (be very careful and remember
what pfarrel said about burning. Don't do it if your system is known to
act unreliably, in particular wrt. to the TP volume control).

Although there are plenty of threads covering this topic, I'd like to
mention a few (for me) issues which doesn't get discussed that often.

As others have said. You *must* gain match properly. Depending on your
specific situation this may result in a less than satisfying volume
control structure. Ie. if you want to keep the digital volume-control
above say 80, there really isn't much room for adjustment. At least I
find it to be insufficient across variations in recording (loudeness),
style of music, my mood, etc.

The solution is to get variable attenuators (or several fixed). This
gives more flexibility, but IMO things then starts to get a bit
complicated and cumbersome.

My personal conclusions: Variable attenuation is a must. Even then its
not as convenient as a regular pre. Its generally less flexible, eg.
can be difficult to do stuff like bi-amping and you get no headphone
output.

Of course if you don't care about the above or find workarounds, and it
sounds good (which it certainly can), then go!
