Don't know why - my secondary research says it does make a difference on macbook into pro/consumer dac - In fact Lavry advice is to deliberaely do this even with normal 16.44 CD rips. I am asking if anyone can testify if they have done likewise using squeezebox as transport... Not a techy so can't explain the logic to you. Something to do with how certain DAC process word length maybe??(although not sure what this means) Think I'll rip a couple of albums using DBpoweramp 24bit settings and A/B vs 16bit settings over bank holiday..If the wife let's me escape gardening duties;) -- ste1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ste1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23522 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62874 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
