a-ha ... I have the EC one... This is definitely clipped - album replaygain of -8.3 (that's hot!). I tried the demo version of the software... obviously the gain change is quite dramatic, so I stuck the before and after versions into Audio DiffMaker - fascinating. The correlated difference is -70dB down (so quite well buried in the mix). On boosting the difference, the clipping on track 1 is on the snare drum - and really obvious. It's hard to do in-depth listening with a 20-second sample. I think I'll buy the software - it does SEEM to work well. I foresee a horrendous workflow... find all albums with clipping (ie large replaygain adjustments) convert to WAV, declip, reconvert to FLAC, reapply replaygain, reapply tags (oh God...) - can this software not work on FLAC files? Otw this is going to be a real labour of love! -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
