Pulled the pre-amp out and max volume is fine through the P1's. I will be testing some ATC SCM50A's in the near future but I am not sure it is worth the cost to upgrade. Currenty the configuration is outstanding in accuracy to the point that recordings I use to listen to sound a bit dirty compared to better recordings. (just plain bad engineering in the studio). My impression so far is that the TP is everything I had hoped for and more. 24/96 recordings through the TP are a great improvement over my single disc transport at 16/44. The next item to address is getting the 12v trigger to work for the amps. I am looking at just taking the fast way out and going with the Niles MSU250. This would let me use the IR off the TP to the Niles and then connect to the 12V trigger. Does anyone have a preference for controlling the TP? I use my iphone when at home but my spouse wants to be able to see all the music and make playlist etc without having to go to the server. I was thinking of using RDP from a small laptop (with SSD drive and no fan) in the listening room. I have not looked at softsqueeze so I am open to ideas for an easy user interface with full function and a readable size.
