I have Beauhorn Virtuosos driven by an Art Audio PX25. One of my sources is a SB Duet going through a Bent Audio TAP passive volume control.
Lately, I added a Peachtree Audio Nova as a DAC and backup amp (to save on tubes). While the amp section of the Nova is nothing to write home about (it's ok as backup, though), the DAC section in combination with the Duet made a huge improvement. As the Nova takes up a good bit of space, it's getting a bit crammed in my rack. So, I'm pondering some alternatives, replacing the Duet/Nova combination either with a Transporter or replacing the Nova with a high quality DAC of a smaller footprint. I was wondering, if someone has compared the Transporter with various Duet (or SB3) DAC combinations? There is a Nova review on 6moons comparing it to the Transporter.
