So the question would be did the new setup give you the oomph you were
seeking? And it's a win win if it did and you don't notice any lack of
playback resolution meaning the NAD DAC is as good as or better then
what you had.

If the new sounds good and is what one is looking for then one can't
really go wrong. But if it just sounds different, not better, then to me
it's not an improvement.
