"And then Peter plugged a Quantum Plug into the wall. Essentially a mains purifier, the device actually improved the sound quality further; music appeared to have more detail, the dynamics were improved and the bass performance stepped up a notch, being tighter and with better extension." I am constantly staggered that apparently intelligent people continue to believe this drivel. Sure, the Modwright looks like a *really* nice unit, and I can see the appeal of valve stages, etc. But, really! R. PS. A small point: in the "What does that extra cash buy you?" list, one of the bullet points is "Powerful enough to directly drive most amplifiers."; The Transporter is of course powerful enough to drive most (all?) amplifiers without the Modwright mod. _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
