I have now been doing a little experimenting. I just have one balanced digital cable, so I tried with balanced cable from Transporter > Tact and a RCA cable from Tact to Transporter. The DAC in The Transporter does sound better than the one in my Tact. Even in this not fully balanced setup. I am supprised.. I have made a setup with digital loop, and tried different settings and ended up with the following: Transporter balanced cable > Tact Roomcorrection+upsampling 96 khz > Return to Transporter. Settings in Squeezebox server(mine is in Dansish so I try to guess the English names): Coding for Digital out : AES/EBU Clock source: Internal Input to effectloop: RCA/Coaxial/S/PDIF Clockfunction to effectloop: Asynchronously external processor is Master Wordclock on S/PDIF-out : Wordclock-out signal activated - Transporter is Master Sean was right about the clock settings. You always have to let the Tact be master to effect loop. I tried selecting Transporter, but that resulted in distorted sound. Why is the possibillity there??? I will now order one more balanced digital cable, to make my setup fully balanced Thanks to Phil an Sean for the tips... -- callesoroe Callesoroe SB-duet, Transporter, Tact RCS 2.2X digital preamp, Martin Logan Vista speakers, Acoustic Reality Ear Enigma AMPs(2 pieces BIAMP) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ callesoroe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22693 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70166 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
