I can't help you with the tests, but others here probably can. And your "blind" test does answer my question. But at this point I think you've discovered something else altogether which is likely driving the differences. I would have guessed this all along, as it is very unlikely that one could be so consistent in detecting differences between FLAC and WAV files without something other than source files themselves driving the difference. Good luck with narrowing down the issue. And if you do track this down, I'd be very interested in what you find.
