I recently got me a Cambridge Dacmagic to upgrade my Squeezebox Classic. I also connected my Asus O-Play to it and just for fun tried to play a 24bit/96kHz FLAC File with the Asus. To my (big) surprise the LED's on the Dacmagic jumped to 96kHz. And the File sounded simply amazing. Way better then the down- and upsampled version over the Squeezebox/Dacmagic combo. A abolutly natural performance with a big and deep soundstage and stunning clarity.
99$, 24bit, 96kHz! So if there is a clever guy out there, who's able to get Squeezeplay or something similar running on the O-Play it would be audiophile heaven for the Low-Budget fans. Since the O-Play seems to be built around a open source platform on some kind of Linux it should be at least possible... And in theses days one should be allowed to dream a little bit... -- Ripfabrik ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ripfabrik's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35060 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72766 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
