I agree that the SServer + MySqueeze system is a good UI. Actually the best I have used. I like the options it has and it is very intuitive. I've yet to find another that allows me to control and configure all of my SDs in one place and remote in and fix or set up new stations for my Mom who is 5 hours away. Plus the iPeng iPhone/iTouch app allows for a lot of freedom.
As far as differentiating between 24/98 and 24/48, well I guess my system isn't good enough to really tell the difference. Perhaps it's because I'm using ALAC predominately. ALAC lacks the /48 /96 differentiation on my Mac and I can only tell if I'm getting one or the other if I use an external DAC. I haven't figured that out yet if it's available in the SServer, so I just trust I'm getting the true /96 rip to my Transporter. Regardless, it's the best sound in the price range *_in certain settings, systems, and ears_*. There is a boat load of difference between the Linn Majik DS and the TP, but one needs to decide if the extra few grande is worth it. I can give more feedback once I re-compare my SB3/CI Audio DAC and TP *_without_* sync enabled but that'll be after the holidays. Regardless, Happy Holidays and enjoy the music.
