I think it depends what and how one will use the Touch. Phil is right that the Touch does sound very good and here is the BUT from my view and opinion in having both a Touch and a TP, the Touch will make an excellent Digital transport with 24/96 native while the TP is an even better digital transport (in my opinion) and if one has and wants to use XLR Balanced outs is hands down the winner of an all in one box. The Touch is a killer Squeezebox and in my opinion is head and shoulders above the SB3. The Transporter has the advantage of a better supported (Power Supplies and components) DAC circuit layout in my opinion and is way above the Touch in the total Power Supply area. Head to Head as a Digital Transport into an upscale outboard DAC, I say buy the Touch. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Second Boom Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74471 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
