After speaking w/ tech support in Cali, the solution was to RMA the
unit.  It should be there today.  Thankfully, it sounds like they may
fix the unit at no cost.  Typically, if the unit was a Logitech branded
box they would just swap it out.  In my case, since it's an original
Slim branded unit, they may need to swap the eprom or whatever they need
to do.
