I guess I'll have to consider using a lower compression level. I don't recall hearing issues but now that I know there is a potential problem I'll be on the lookout for it.
Since we are on the subject of 24/96, I thought I read in a post by Sean Adams that SB3s will use everyone other sample to go from 24/96 to 24/48 (obviously not a very good algorithm).
