It is not that the Transporter can't be controlled with its included remote but rather the ease of the control. I've got a Duet controller and selecting music and building a playlist for the listening session is simply faster and easier. People who use iPeng are equally fond of their control program. A comparison might be using an old DOS based word processor program versus a modern GUI-based word processor.
