If you're OK with the 96/24 limitation and Squeezebox Software, Transporter is the perfect *transport* you can think of. I myself have quite high-end system, and even compared it on more high-endish one with EMM Labs 30K$ box. Transporter is perfect, and its flexibility has no equal. With DAC, things become more complicated. To my ears, high-rez music sound outstanding on Transporter, better, for example, than on PS Audio PWD. With CD-quality, I did not like the sound that much, but here there are multiple options to fit your taste. Like using upsampling on the server-side with different kind of filters, or modding the DAC with some better components... (what I did recently) With its 1250$ price on audiogon (I saw a week ago, entirely new unit in a box) it is a steal. -- michael123 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ michael123's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23745 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76895 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
