It was suggested to simply use something like sox to convert 96/24 files to 44/16, and this would be cheaper than buying both. Anyone care to post the appropriate options to use to best do this? So far I do not hear definite differences, so don't want to buy two of lots of things. Thanks! (Will be doing this on Linux machines, so need Linux software.)
