It's in general - the impedance matching... the most crucial aspect of
a digital cable IMO - is all wrong with AES/EBU.
Remember, AES was not designed for a quality (low-jitter) audio
connection - it was designed to be:
1) rugged
2) cheap - because it could use existing cables over long distances

Sean said the AES on the TP was not as good as the coax.
In general (studio) use on other equipment I've come to the same
conclusion.
