It's in general - the impedance matching... the most crucial aspect of a digital cable IMO - is all wrong with AES/EBU. Remember, AES was not designed for a quality (low-jitter) audio connection - it was designed to be: 1) rugged 2) cheap - because it could use existing cables over long distances Sean said the AES on the TP was not as good as the coax.
