Haven't sold audiophile gear on eBay (although I did buy a Transporter),
but have concluded many transactions there.  My impression is that in
some quarters there are a lot of "buy it now" transactions, but even so
there are indeed active auctions that attract attention.  In my
experience the best way to handle pricier goods is to make sure you set
a starting price that is at least minimally acceptable to you, and then
hope for the best.  The ploy of setting a lowball starting price only
works for things that you KNOW will get active interest.
