Twas I that compared the bridgless (was vapourware at the time) PWD to the TP's dac - room etc wasnt an issue as it was with headphones and the same HP amp , the dealer told me later that the unit he loaned me was broken hence the midbass dip and funny sounding voices. However I have subsequently compared a fixed one (also sans bridge as all I wanted was a dac) and it too wasn't worth the money to *me* as it sounded a bit better than the "broken" one but never sited my taste in audio reproduction. Build quality is superb tho - love the white gloves it comes with - a nice touch. Heres a pic of my headphone setup btw if anyone is interested. Also my listening room
