Reading from what you wrote above, we basically agree :)
I would say it is a matter of taste preference.
I liked the way PWD sounded with redbook material, but with high-rez I
got a feeling that it lost some details.. (my system is quite
resolving, I have Verity Audio Parsifal Ovation speakers, MIT cabling,
Octave 500SE preamp, Halo A21 amp and Furman Reference conditioner) I
agree it was smoother...

Anyway, _I_did_not_test_it_with_the_bridge_, maybe it would be
different experience..

I heard Weiss DAC202 connected with FW to my laptop, and THAT was like
more of the same experience. Weiss beats Transporter (my modded unit)
in every domain. 

Which filters do you use BTW on PerfectWave? Auto?
