I can quite confidently say that the percieved difference between DVD and Blu-Ray is 'easily' discernable, so I can only assume that people that cannot tell the difference between these two have sight problem do not have a large screen TV. I however agree when it come to audio though - that 'can' be objective based on personal taste - but the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray, well that's just plain obvious! Anyway, going off track here... I have heard a NOS DAC before using TDA1543 chips - my guess is without being pefectly jitter free when comparing to a Benchmark - and that sounded really good. So you either get the jitter free perfection or just remove the oversampling, upsampling, and filter for sonic purity - or in time perhaps BOTH ideals will merge. Either way, thanks for all your help - I will be moving away from CD onto something similar to a SB (haven't decided that it will necessarily be a SB yet) - then perhaps to begin with, hook it into a NOS DAC for under £500 - and see how I get on with that compared to what I have been used to before. -- stop-spinning ------------------------------------------------------------------------ stop-spinning's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43254 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84903
