Touch has an linux like OS so one can fiddle with it a lot, and
squeezeplay itself is also open, the receiver is closed source.
Some realize that the duet has a bunch of internal switch mode
regulators therefore changing the external psu only might not do that
much for it.

DIY and modding should be done for the fun of it, a Hobby.

Migth be better to get a Touch for the Money instead of modding a duet,
unless ofcourse it's your hobby and you enjoy diy :)
