I don't know -- count me firmly in the camp of someone for whom the audio quality is the most important thing. I'm happy that they're offering Transporter-level audio quality at a significant discount. I rarely ever control my various Squeezebox products with anything other than my laptop, iPeng, or my controller. I can't imagine that I'd ever use the knob except to play around with it when I first got it, and I don't feel like the missing knob is THAT aesthetically displeasing -- certainly not enough so that I would prefer to pay the additional money to get one with a knob!
