What you want is not just a storage device but something that can run the music server software (SBS) AND hold the content. Some NAS variant will do, but consider the FitPC. Runs Windows or Unix (no Apple variant). Mine (XP, newer versions run Win7) has been a dedicated music server for 18 months, on 24/7, no problems. I bought it diskless and installed a 500gb drive and XP on it. You can use an external drive if you are so inclined, but you'd lose the 5W power draw. A bit pricier than some other solutions, but very elegant. http://www.fit-pc.com/web/ R. -- RonM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ RonM's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17029 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84960 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
