If you mean you're using your laptop as a remote and it seems to be fine...well, that's an occasional connection not a stream. You wouldn't notice it if the laptop couldn't connect for five seconds in the middle of a track. Next step is to try moving the TP near the server and connecting directly with CATx cable.
If the problem goes away, the Airport needs looking at. Play around with the channels. If you live in a built-up area channel clashes can cause problems. But if the problem persists, the server or TP needs looking at - most likely the server. I've seen intermittent issues with hard disks before, for example.
