I would like to shatter some misconceptions about unsighted listening. When you don't know what's playing you can still explore completely subjective questions such as: 1. Is one thing more to my personal taste than another? 2. Can I hear, with my own ears and in my own system, a difference at all?
What is absolute or measurement-oriented about that? Nothing. It's completely subjective. The only thing you're taking out of the equation is the knowledge of which device or configuration you're listening to. You don't have to believe or understand anything about engineering to listen unsighted - and you can rely totally on your own perceptions, senses and tastes.
