Sure. A "linnie" is the name given to a Linn fan boy, in other words someone who loves all things Linn. Based on your statement "I think they are far more entitled to call their downloads genuine 24/192 than HDtracks." I felt that you fell into the category of a "Linnie" since, as I explained in my prior post, if the 24/192 files are sourced from analog masters and converted to 24bit/192kHz h-rez digital files they are just as much "true" hi-rez digital as any other hi-rez digital file. There is nothing magic or special about the Linn hi-rez files aside from their super high price and Linn's massive marketing mumbo-jumbo. I'm sorry if I offended you. And yes I did forget the smiley face :) Believe me I'm not trying to defend HDTracks but it's one thing to complain about their high prices and quite another to call their high resolution files somehow inferior to those being sold by Linn. Linn offers very well recorded music made by musicians who often deserve more exposure but that has nothing to do with the quality of the music being offered by HDTracks. -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 (oops) -> Touch 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86017 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
