Doesn´t look like you´re reading carefully enough what I´m saying or
responding too.

My first reply, was to the statement "using a cable to tame a bright
system.", which has indeed to do with tonal balance. I also said, given
a cable that meets all general requirements for its purpose. This would
indeed mean it´s not "losing information"  Also, using DSP, I actually
have gained information I hadn´t noticed before. Getting rid of bloomy
or bass bumps, cutting some of the highs in the 3500-10.000hz, I heard
nuances that had been masked because of uneven tonal balance, in
addition to a much better tonal balance. Boosting 100-200hz which were
according to the sound meter, too low, I also got more drive.
