Both the Touch and Transporter will play 192/24, or 176/24 files just fine..albeit downsampled via Sox to 96/24 or 88/24 respectively.
Given the "vast" assortment of music we all love to hear being widely available in 192/24....is this really an issue? I don't know of anyone who has said "192 blows away 96". The numbers are bigger of course, but is the "improvement" there? I'm not so sure about that. The Touch IMO is an incredible device that encourages you to listen to music. That's the best feature any component could have. Technology marches forward, so I'm not confident in any attempts at future proofing, but today? This is good stuff. It would just be nice if the record companies would try and keep up. Much of what they're pumping out isn't going to be made better by cutting it into smaller pieces.
