Hello, late to this thread, but I have the same challenge as piperpilot12w - use my Transporter's one pair of XLR output to feed (1) one pair of Focal active desktop monitors, and (2) an active Focal sub (which accepts one pair of XLR inputs).
I was told by some that I could use a XLR Y-splitter cable (or adapter) to send one pair of XLRs to the monitors and another pair to the sub, but others say that such a split would degrade the original signal. To maintain the perfect signal, some suggest to use an active XLR splitter of some kind, or use a crossover device to separate the XLR feeds to the monitors and the sub. But I hate to introduce any active components in the path. To use the Transporter XLRs for the monitors and the RCAs for the sub won't work for me because the volume is controlled by a single passive attenuator device between the Transporter and the speakers. Will a high quality XLR splitter cable or adapter really degrade the original signal? Other suggestions how to best take one XLR output and faithfully send it to two destinations? Thanks. -- reachpeng ------------------------------------------------------------------------ reachpeng's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=46126 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76590 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
