Someone had to first put their hand into the fire to know that it was
hot. It was not common sense consensus that told them that. It was
someone making a discovery that they then passed on to others until it
THEN became a common consensus that fire hurts and will always hurt if
you put your hand into it.
You think a child knows that fire can harm them? You either tell them
what has already been proven by science and experimentation or you let
them find out by themselves.
