not related to your problem, but I think you're not using sync the way
most would think of it here.  Sync means you have two or more SB
players "synched" to play exactly the same thing (perfectly timed). 
What you are reporting is the Controller shows what the transporter is
playing. That's correct behavior (and not what one would call
synching). The Controller can control any SB
player (the duet receiver, the transporter, SB3, boom, touch, radio,
etc.). So within the Controller menu, if you've chosen "transporter" as
the player (under choose player), whatever is playing on the transporter
will show up on the controller screen, and you can control the
transporter (choose songs, change volume, etc.)

Another test on your problem. Can you move the transporter temporarily
so that it is connected via ethernet cable to your router, then do a
factory reset on the transporter. Just trying to reduce the number of
variables (wifi, etc.).

And yes, the transporter is a very nice addition to a music system. It
is the central point of my system.
